Overall value for money. Isolated, quiet. Mud like beach. No snorkelling

We had 2 bookings, a week apart. The second week was better than the first as changes had been made. Good size bungalows - rustic and traditional decor. Fridge was cold Beautiful, well maintained gardens. Room cleaning and fresh towels every day. Quiet . Luta (senior staff member) ensured everything which needed fixing in our room was done. Most of the other staff members were slow and looked bored. 2 pool and kept very clean and loads of Sun loungers. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Very isolated. Need to walk 30 mins to Smugglers Cove along the beach for any other bars. It was worth it as much cheaper and more atmospheric at night. Needed updating especially in the bathroom. First bungalow the lamps didn’t work, 1980’s style bathroom. Shower curtain was too long for opening. Bed is very low but clean. Breakfast was pretty bad . Cold baked beans , no eggs on the first week. Broken 2 sliced toaster which was replaced with a new double toaster. Had to ask for servers be refilled. Not enough staff on a breakfast or at checkout time between 9am and 10am. The beach is dark mud like sand. Very shallow at low tide which was all day. Could not swim in it.

The ants. Everytime you put something on a bench there were ants. Ants even managed to get into my closed suitcase

Stayed in bungalow, a little tired although was comfortable. There are other options to choose from which looked quite new. Friendly & helpful staff, we only stayed one night travelling through would be happy staying longer.

Good :)

The room was okay, a little bit small for two people, but I was staying alone so it was fine. The bathroom was clean, there was a pool right in front of the room. Breakfast was a bit disappointing as there were only toast and fruits, maybe they change it everyday though.

The place is quite remote - if you don't have your own transport and need a taxi, you need to ask reception in advance as it takes some time for them to get there (I waited ~30-40min and was late for my appointment).

Come with no expectations, and a forgiving heart and you'll have a great time...

Staff were nice, friendly and kind. The grounds, pools and rooms were clean, tidy and well maintained. I didn't stay long enough to try much of the menu, but The Fiji Curry was spectacular - probably the best fish curry I have ever had.

My idea of staying in a resort is to have a stress free holiday where everything is organized to meet our needs. I'm sure other people have had a perfect experience here, but this is not really how it panned out for me. Both of our rides to and from the airport - the driver was late. We ordered a vegetarian burger, but a beef one was delivered. Small things may have been lost in translation - things like the menu says Banana Fritters - but it only comes with one fritter. If you order the buffet breakfast, do not order it on the morning you leave [if leaving before 7.30am, as the kitchen does not open until 7.30]. I was advised [seeing as I had paid for the breakfast] a takeaway breakfast would be available but would only be fruit - which was fine with me, we also wanted a few slices of bread. They only left us bread - no fruit, and there was no one available to get us fruit before we left. It feels a bit like all the hotel systems are competent alone, but when working together they lack communication. You need to be very clear with your instructions and very flexible with your expectations. I'm not the kind of person to complain about things, as I know peoples livelihoods are at stake. Over all we had a good time, but if you are uptight, anxious, critical and like a 'perfect' holiday experience, this may not be the right place for you. I would advise holiday makers to come with no expectations and plenty of money and you'll have a great time.

What was the highlight of Club Fiji Resort

Flawed but surprisingly fun.

The resort is a bit like a fancy Australian motel or caravan park from the 1970's. The good stuff: the location is very pleasant, a bit out of Nadi (which isnt very nice at all), very nice views and the grounds are really good. We were in a beach bungalow which had nice views. The main complex has a bar and restaurants, the bar is good (prices very reasonable, nice cocktails and decent bottled drinks and beer on tap), the fish curry was fantastic (better than anything I had eaten at the Outrigger the previous 3 days), and then there was a bbq that night with really good bbq fish. The staff were pretty nice. We nagged them a few times about missing towels in the room and ended up finding them in our bedding (oops). The bungalow was spacious and pretty cute, but needs attention. The "beach" is is on is nice for walking on, probably not swimming at. The sand is dark. It is more like a bay, but really pretty and you see the ships out in the bay. There were a few pools on site, like hold overs from the 80's or 90's. People seemed to be having fun in them. They had some entertainment on at night - a couple of singers, it was super nice, really pleasant. We had heaps of fun.

You pretty much have to go down a dirt road to get to it which is a bit of a surprise. That said Nadi roads have a lot of potholes, so a full dirt road wasnt much worse. Our taxi driver tackled it like a champion. The bungalow was super tired. The wooden louvres are caked with dust, the bed was saggy (though the couch thing was firm enough, I ended up sleeping on it), the bath tap was running and wouldnt stop, the bathroom itself looked every bit of a few decades old and performed accordingly, the toilet seat was too small for the toilet. Then to top it off the safe jammed and we had a drama for our early departure to the airport because we couldnt get our passports out (happy ending, google search suggested jiggling the door and then trying the code again which worked after an hour of panic). But all in all it was a lot of fun, I think the good stuff outweighed the bad. Personally I preferred it to the Outrigger, it was much more laid back.

Older resort in need of refurbishment. It's very isolated, along way from any restaurants and night life ($30 taxi each way!). The resort restaurant menu is ok and portion sizes are good but quality is average

Low key, basic but good

It’s so incredibly peaceful and the little huts you stay in reinforce that calmness - the staff are super lovely. It’s a very warm place to be - friendly. Go here for the simple life.

It’s a resort so the prices of drinks are a bit silly - the wifi is only available in the bar/reception area and is very spotty. Funnily enough once I got used to having no wifi or TV in my room it became a blessing. My concern is that without these first world ‘basics’ like good wifi that they get left behind. That would be a shame because it’s nice there.
