Low key, basic but good
It’s so incredibly peaceful and the little huts you stay in reinforce that calmness - the staff are super lovely. It’s a very warm place to be - friendly. Go here for the simple life.
It’s a resort so the prices of drinks are a bit silly - the wifi is only available in the bar/reception area and is very spotty. Funnily enough once I got used to having no wifi or TV in my room it became a blessing. My concern is that without these first world ‘basics’ like good wifi that they get left behind. That would be a shame because it’s nice there.

What was the highlight of Club Fiji Resort
Flawed but surprisingly fun.
The resort is a bit like a fancy Australian motel or caravan park from the 1970's. The good stuff: the location is very pleasant, a bit out of Nadi (which isnt very nice at all), very nice views and the grounds are really good. We were in a beach bungalow which had nice views. The main complex has a bar and restaurants, the bar is good (prices very reasonable, nice cocktails and decent bottled drinks and beer on tap), the fish curry was fantastic (better than anything I had eaten at the Outrigger the previous 3 days), and then there was a bbq that night with really good bbq fish. The staff were pretty nice. We nagged them a few times about missing towels in the room and ended up finding them in our bedding (oops). The bungalow was spacious and pretty cute, but needs attention. The "beach" is is on is nice for walking on, probably not swimming at. The sand is dark. It is more like a bay, but really pretty and you see the ships out in the bay. There were a few pools on site, like hold overs from the 80's or 90's. People seemed to be having fun in them. They had some entertainment on at night - a couple of singers, it was super nice, really pleasant. We had heaps of fun.
You pretty much have to go down a dirt road to get to it which is a bit of a surprise. That said Nadi roads have a lot of potholes, so a full dirt road wasnt much worse. Our taxi driver tackled it like a champion. The bungalow was super tired. The wooden louvres are caked with dust, the bed was saggy (though the couch thing was firm enough, I ended up sleeping on it), the bath tap was running and wouldnt stop, the bathroom itself looked every bit of a few decades old and performed accordingly, the toilet seat was too small for the toilet. Then to top it off the safe jammed and we had a drama for our early departure to the airport because we couldnt get our passports out (happy ending, google search suggested jiggling the door and then trying the code again which worked after an hour of panic). But all in all it was a lot of fun, I think the good stuff outweighed the bad. Personally I preferred it to the Outrigger, it was much more laid back.
